Open Position: Plumbing Technician
We are a plumbing company based in the Napa Valley seeking a Plumbing Technician. Candidates should possess prior experience in plumbing and excellent communication skills for interacting with customers. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, punctual, and dependable. Working hours typically run from Monday to Friday, starting around 7 AM and ending around 4 PM, although hours may vary depending on the position and schedule.
Responsibilities for Applicants:
- Install, test and inspect pipes and fixtures for plumbing.
- Troubleshoot leaks and issues on all plumbing systems (sewer, water, gas).
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
- Prepare bids, budgets, and cost estimates. Ability to determine the amount of material, time, and type of equipment needed to complete the job.
- Keep accurate records of time spent working, as well as a description of work performed and materials used.
- Ability to establish strong customer rapport.
- Be professional and knowledgeable with customers.
- Work alongside/communicate with customer service and dispatch to ensure the business’s overall success.
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
- Be on time for all training exercises and meetings and participate actively in them.
- Maintain tools that are in good working order.
- Be willing to perform any other task relative to getting the job done.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
- Must be able to use a mobile phone.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
- Ability to work with PVC, ABS, PEX, cast iron, and copper
- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
